Auror Department

The Auror Dept circa 2008

The Auror Department is an elite part of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. They catch highly dangerous Dark wizards. Their office is located on the second level of the Ministry of Magic.

Divisions

• Great Britain Auror Department (GBAD): takes jurisdiction over England, Scotland, and Wales
• Northern Ireland Auror Department (NIAD): takes primary jurisdiction over Northern Ireland
• Republic of Ireland Auror Department (RIAD): takes primary jurisdiction over the Republic of Ireland

NIAD and RIAD were previously simply the IAD before the split

• Extended Islands Auror Department (EIAD): takes primary jurissdiction over the Isle of Wight, Anglesey, the Isles of Scilly, the Herbides, Orkney and the Channel Islands. Most of their larger cases are referred to GBAD
